Originally constructed with wood and with steps leading upward, the Tianning dagoba was destroyed by a wartime conflagration in the end of the Yuan Dynasty and in the Liao Dynasty.

• 塔建于方形砖彻的大平台上。塔的最下部是须弥座，有壶门浮雕一道，须弥座上面是具有斗拱勾栏的平座和三层仰莲瓣，承以塔身。莲瓣初建时是用铁制，可以注油燃灯，清代重修后才改成砖塔。
