In July 2005, the Key Lab. was qualified by experts from MOE and thus set up officially named as the Key Lab. of Optical Communication and Lightwave Technologies (the OCLT Lab.).

• 2005年07月，顺利通过专家验收，正式开放运行，命名为“光通信与光波技术”教育部重点实验室（北京邮电大学）。
